Discount Bathroom Vanities - Tile
The bathroom is one of the most used rooms in any house but
it also seems to be the one that is neglected most of the
time. That does not mean that people do not keep it neat and
tidy (though in some households this is probably the case)
but rather that people do not really regard the bathroom as
the top of the priorities list. The only time people even
considering renovating or doing something to the bathroom is
when something has gone wrong – like a broken tile or
seepage – or when the rest of the house has been taken care
of and the bathroom is starting to look a little off.
Considering that it is one of the rooms in which people
spend most of their time during their lives, it is rather
odd that it does not get the same amount of attention.
The bathroom does have the problem of being the source of a
multitude of problems that usually lead people to
renovating, or at the very least fixing it. One of the
biggest problems in bathrooms that have not been tended to
in a few years is the problem of water seepage. No matter
how strong the seals and the grout, years and years of
moisture eventually make their way through the tile and wall
and into the adjoining rooms. The first indication of this
is usually mold growing in a cabinet, water damage or wood
warping. When this occurs the first culprit is the bathroom
and that means that somewhere there is a problem of some
sort.
One of the mistakes that many people make when they renovate
a bathroom out of, for lack of a better word, necessity; is
to simply renovate the bathroom without taking a look at the
underlying problems. If there is seepage the problem may
already be bigger than broken seals or damp grout. Make sure
that the bathroom is once more sealed nice and tight and
that all the problems have been sorted out before you
renovate the bathroom otherwise the problems will simply
come back at a later stage. A tile will fall from the wall,
the floor may warp and suddenly water starts to seep through
an adjoining wall again. By taking care of the problems
first and then renovating you can ensure that the bathroom
will remain in a generally good and sealed condition for
another few years.
Renovating the bathroom is more than just a cosmetic
exercise and you need to be aware that the bathroom is,
aside from being the most used room in the house, one of the
most intricate rooms in the house. All the plumbing and
sealing that goes on in a bathroom can be rather daunting
but with some professional help it should not be too much of
a problem. So when the final tile has finally cracked or
fallen from the wall or the grout is starting to sprout a
healthy crop – it may be time to take a look at the bathroom
and consider not only renovating it, but fixing up the
place, too.
